Chemical Name Citric Acid Anhydrous
Because of its edible, acidic nature, citric acid is predominantly used in the food industry and at home as a flavouring, emulsifying and preserving agent. A "sour salt" it is used as a dry alternative to vinegar or lemon juice.
Being acidic, it is an excellent agent for disinfectant and cleaning products for removing soap scum, hard water stains, lime, and rust. It also softens hard water to allow laundry or dishwasher detergents to work better.
It is also one of the active ingredients for homemade bath bombs, tub fizzers, shower tabs and dishwasher detergents and tablets.
